The EPM  Experience  for Senior Teams

Benefit to You

With this full day of highly experiential, team-oriented education 1 , your entire senior team learns how to create highly efficient product-development operations, with enterprise-project-management (EPM).

Why This Experience Necessary

Executives correctly perceive their roles as overwhelmingly strategic in nature.  Consequently, they tend to divest themselves of all that they perceive as tactical or operational.  While day-to-day matters related to EPM fall in the category of tactical matters, creating the system, whereby these and other tactical matters can be addressed effectively by mere managers, is a strategically important responsibility that only the most senior executives can fulfill.

What's Involved

  1. We begin by defining a product-development operation that shares resources among its projects.  Participants assume various roles, such as the roles of resources, project-managers, etc.
  2. We simulate with considerable fidelity a product-development process that requires the resources to multitask widely 2 , and we measure the performance of the operation.
  3. We simulate a product-development process that uses EPM, and we measure performance again.
  4. We discuss at length all that's required of executives, for the better operation to prevail.

Footnotes:

1  Due to the team-nature of this event, it is nearly impossible to hold the event more than one time with any team.  Therefore, it is extremely advisable to hold the event sufficiently away from everyone's work-location as to preclude office-related interruptions. ↑

 2

The multitasking work-model is in extremely widespread use, particularly throughout product-development companies and also throughout companies that provide engineering services. ↑
