Take a look at
Amazon's home page, right now. There, you'll
see the 2nd generation e-book device from Amazon,
Kindle-2. It's a WOW!
But, it's not just the sleek, electronic device that
holds 1,500 books, which gets me excited. It's the
depth, the breadth, the direction, the focus, and the
intensity of the whole offering that Jeff Bezos and his
people have created around electronic publishing, which
gets me excited. Holy paradigm shift, Batman!
I bought a Kindle-2 yesterday. I'm using it,
and I'm liking it very much. I bought my first
e-book ten minutes after I opened the Kindle-2's box.
Amazon downloaded the book to my Kindle-2 just minutes
after I paid for it, and I was reading my new book in
just five minutes. It took five minutes, because I
decided to make a cup of coffee.
Bezos and his people have defined the future of
publishing, and that future is here, and it's awesome!
